Reyes is the main suspect of the murder on 7 January 2024 of three young women in Roatan, a popular tourist destination in the Islas de la Bahia in Honduras. Honduras has the highest femicide rate in Latin America and the fifth highest in the world (6.47 per 100,000 women).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As reported in The Tico Times, the Public Ministry of Honduras, in a statement, revealed that Reyes Bermudez was apprehended by Dominican authorities after fleeing Honduras in the wake of the murders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As reported, the victims, identified as Mar\u00eda Antonia Cruz, Nikendra McCoy, and Dione Sol\u00f3rzano, who was Reyes\u2019 former spouse, had reportedly gone out with the American on 6 January 2024. The following day, Reyes fled the country, and the women were reported missing. The bodies of the women were found on 9 January with gunshot wounds in a vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Honduran prosecutors and police gathered substantial evidence from the crime scene and witness testimonies that incriminate Reyes Bermudez. The authorities said he first returned to the United States and from there moved to the Dominican Republic.
