Vice President Raquel Pe\u00f1a and Industry & Commerce Minister Victor (Ito) Bisono attended the opening of the International Chamber of Commerce in Santo Domingo Centre of Entrepreneurship. The center is a joint effort of the ICC and the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santo Domingo (CCPSD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vice President and Industry Minister were present for the center inaugural speeches by ICC Secretary General John W.H. Denton AO, CCPSD Second Vice-President of the Board of Directors Anyerlene Berg\u00e9s and CCPSD Executive Vice-President Antonio Ramos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new ICC Centre of Entrepreneurship in the Dominican Republic seeks to promote the participation of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in international trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is ICC\u2019s 15th entrepreneurship center opened since the first was launched in Istanbul, Turkey in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are excited to announce the expansion of our ICC Centre of Entrepreneurship network to now include the Dominican Republic. Together, with the Santo Domingo Chamber of Commerce, we aim to ignite greater global market participation among SMEs and pave the way for growth opportunities,\u201d said ICC Secretary General John W.H. Denton AO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister of Industry, Victor Bison\u00f3 commended the effort forecasting it will strengthen local companies, making them more innovative and competitive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking for the CCPSD, Anyerlene Berg\u00e9s stressed the importance of SMEs in the Dominican economy, especially in key sectors such as tourism and services. She said the new initiative would enable specific programs to be put in place to support their expansion internationally. This, she said, would allow them to diversify their sources of income and capitalize on new business opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ICC Centre of Entrepreneurship works closely with chambers of commerce around the world to expand their networks and offer global training, virtual mentoring and coaching, with the objective of inspiring entrepreneurship, digitizing SMEs and improving their global competitiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
