Punta Cana International is the largest airport in the Dominican Republic, receiving the lion&#8217;s share of tourism traffic, most headed to the nearby Punta Cana beach resorts. The airport improvements are in line with the increasing number of travelers who fly in and out of the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alberto Smith, director of Landside &amp; Cargo Operations at Punta Cana International Airport for the Grupo Puntacana, told Arecoa that the works will take around three years to be completed because it is a working terminal.
