A father and two sons are accused of the murder of Luis Alfredo Pacheco, son of the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Alfredo Pacheco. Pacheco senior is running for reelection for the National District for the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) in the 19 May 2024 elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hernan Torres Jr. and Hernando Torres were arrested on Monday, 6 May 2024 by the HPD South Gessner Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team, along with help from DEA agents and U.S. Marshals. Hernan Sr. was already in custody in Philadelphia on unrelated charges and will be extradited to Harris County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police said the suspects got out of two cars, a silver Mercedes-Benz sedan and a silver Dodge Charger. They began firing at the black Cadillac Escalade in which the son of the politician was with a 29-year old victim who is still in critical condition at the Houston Memorial Hermann Hospital. He has not been identified. Reportedly a third person, also unnamed, survived uninjured. The Cadillac was covered with bullet holes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Houston Police Department, the late Luis Pacheco was ambushed by gunfire after he walked out of a Houston convenience store in a southeast Houston gas station and got into the SUV. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt that time, a silver (Dodge) Charger and a silver Mercedes Benz approached the SUV. Two males exited the Dodge, one male exited the Mercedes Benz and all three fired multiple shots at the SUV,\u201d police said in a 7 May 2024 news release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time of the shooting, officers said the attack was \u201ctargeted,\u201d according to KPRC. Police did not provide an update on the trio\u2019s motive. The arraignment of the three is pending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
