The motorists transported the undocumented migrants through the migration checkpoints on the main highway. The migrants had traveled on a bus, used the motorist transport to cross the checkpoint, and then would have boarded again the bus to reach their destination in the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Christian Jos\u00e9 de los Santos, Edwin Castillo and \u00c1ngel Ariel Soto Lara were arrested when caught in the act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As reported in Diario Libre, the &#8220;motoconchistas&#8221; will be charged for violating Migration Law 284-04 and People Trafficking Law 137-03 in an Azua court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diario Libre says that the motorcyclists are part of a network that regularly transports undocumented foreigners through the mountains and Ocoa River areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read more in Spanish:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/eldia.com.do\/motoristas-que-cargaban-ilegales-sometidos-justicia\/\">El Dia <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4 June 2024<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In an unusual action, the Migration Agency is sending to justice three motorcyclists from Los Pilones in southcentral province of Azua accused of transporting undocumented Haitian migrants.
