Tourism Minister David Collado inaugurated three major infrastructure projects in Samana province and broke ground on a new one, with a total investment of over RD$133 million last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The finished projects are the second phase of the roads to La Granja and Cos\u00f3n that called for the the reconstruction of the Ramal Viva (1.8 km) and Ramal Los N\u00f3madas (1.2 km) accesses to Cos\u00f3n Beach. Likewise, the government completed the reconstruction of the two-lane 2.45 km access road to Estillero Beach in the municipality of El Lim\u00f3n. These works were carried out for RD$120,277,900.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to opening these three works, Minister Collado also broke ground for the reconstruction of the pedestrian walkway in the coastal area of the municipality of Las Terrenas, an investment of RD$13,352,565. The government is rebuilding a walkway and pedestrian access to beach areas and tourist attractions in Las Terrenas town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The walkway will be 160.0 linear meters long covered in synthetic wood, on a concrete structure of 45.0 linear meters, located over the existing ravine. New lighting and 87.71 linear meters of wooden railings will be incorporated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the construction of a Politur booth to provide security to users of the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister Collado said that all these works are part of the government’s effort to continue positioning Saman\u00e1 as a leading tourist destination in the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
