Dominican Republic\u2019s reigning 400 m world champion Marileidy Paulino was chosen by the Pan American Sports Organization as one of nine athletes \u2013 five men and four women — to be ambassadors for the Americas in the Paris Olympic Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ambassadors collectively have 14 Olympic, 33 world, and 26 Pan American medals, and Paris is the next grand goal for these to add medals to their already very successful sports careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pan American Sports Organization ambassadors are Olympic, World and Pan American medal winners who represent sports excellence in the playing field and are chosen to be true role models for their countries and promoters of Olympic values all over the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together the group adds up to 14 Olympic medals (seven gold), 33 World medals (20 gold), and 26 Pan American medals, which makes them the most successful team yet to represent Panam Sports since the ambassador\u2019s project was created back in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chosen athletes for Paris 2024 are Mija\u00edn L\u00f3pex (Grecco-Roman Wrestling, Cuba), Rebeca Andrade (Artistic Gymnastics, Brazil), Marileidy Paulino (Athletics, Dominican Republic), Margaret McNeil (Swimming, Canada), Marcos Moneta (Rugby 7s, Argentina), Julien Alfred (Athletics, Saint Lucia), Osmar Olvera (Diving, Mexico), Nicol\u00e1s Jarry (Tennis, Chile) and Valerie Allman (Athletics, USA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey are exceptional athletes. They are role models in their countries, successful in their sports careers, and, most importantly, extraordinary human beings. We are thrilled with this Panam Sports Team, and we are sure that all of them will bring us much joy in Paris 2024,\u201d mentioned Neven Ilic, the Panam Sports president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign for the Team Panam Sports going to Paris 2024 has the slogan \u201cThe Americas, Just One Team.\u201d It is inspired by all the birds of the continent and reflects the attributes the regional athletes have in their quest for medals in the Olympic Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The official advertising spot has a golden eagle as the core element. The eagle travels through several landscapes on the continent, reaching downtown Paris and the iconic Eiffel Tower. Furthermore, the stripes, or branding guidelines of the organization, are shaped into wings on the athletes, with the \u201cGet Ready to Fly\u201d concept inviting all to become a part of and follow their preparations and competitions in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The official campaign symbol is a bird with its \u201chands\u201d crossed in front of every athlete\u2019s chest, representing the reunion of different cultures and countries in one team, representing the Americas region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
