Hurricane Beryl is moving westward through the Caribbean. The storm is keeping sufficiently south to not cause anything major at eastern or southeastern coast of the country. Storm surge and major swells are expected to impact the coasts in Pedernales and Barahona, and rain is forecast as this is a big passing storm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Center of Emergency Operations has issued a green alert for La Altagracia province (Punta Cana), La Romana (Casa de Campo) and San Pedro de Macoris, Puerto Plata (Playa Dorada, Sosua, Cabarete, especially taking into consideration ocean and sea swells. The beach destinations of Samana, Maria Trinidad Sanchez (Nagua and Cabrera) and Montecristi are not included in the weather alerts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Storms are known to be fickle and all eyes are on its path as it moves west through Caribbean waters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, once Beryl is past the country by Wednesday, forecasts will focus on the No. 2 disturbance that is moving west also from Africa on the heels of Beryl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
