Dominican-based low-cost carrier Arajet has unveiled an ambitious expansion plan to amplify its global presence, establishing 19 new international routes from Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ), Arecoa reports. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arajet’s decision to fly from Punta Cana is a win-win situation for the airline, the airport and passengers in general. The airline benefits from the enormous flow of passengers that use Punta Cana International Airport. It further solidifies the position of Punta Cana International Airport as a leading regional air hub. And passengers gain by being able to connect for ongoing travel around the world. Punta Cana International has more different airlines than any other airport in Central America and the Caribbean region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Punta Cana International is the busiest airport in the Dominican Republic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inaugurated in 1983, the airport was the world’s first privately owned international commercial airport, paving the way for a new era of tourism and economic development in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, Punta Cana International Airport handles 68% of the country’s tourist air traffic. With direct connections to 75 cities across 34 nations, served by 58 airlines, the airport facilitates the movement of over 9 million passengers and transports more than 25 million kilograms of cargo annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arajet had been using Las Americas International (SDQ) as its hub, but the new expansion to Punta Cana will give it access to more cities across Latin America, the Caribbean, and North America. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arajet has become a regular choice for Dominican passengers for its flying new Boeing aircraft at affordable prices. The airline has a fleet of Boeing 737-8 Max aircraft, each seating 186 passengers. The airline regularly offers fare deals that has opened the interest of local passengers to get to know the Americas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
