The men were rescued by the Chinese cargo vessel Xin Ah Ning after being adrift. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a short detour for the rescue operation, the ship continued on its route to Haina Port in the Dominican Republic. The Europeans were met at the port by Dominican Navy officials and Spanish consular representatives and medical personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Medical personnel determined that Juan Manuel P\u00e9rez Santana and Nikola Nicolic, the Spanish and Serbian nationals respectively, were in good health. However, David G\u00f3mez P\u00e9rez, also Spanish, sustained a knee injury during the rescue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diario Libre reported that the injured sailor was given immediate medical attention, while the other two were turned over to their respective consular representatives.
