The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced the appointment of Ana Mar\u00eda D\u00edaz as Resident Representative and Sanja Bojanic as Deputy Resident Representative in the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ana Mar\u00eda D\u00edaz is a Colombian-born Spanish national, who has a background with extensive experience in international cooperation and sustainable development. D\u00edaz began her career in the private sector, accumulating over five years of experience before transitioning to international development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout her career, D\u00edaz has collaborated with the private sector in Europe and civil society in Africa. With more than 25 years at the UNDP, she has held various positions, including Head of Planning and Monitoring for Latin America and the Caribbean at UNDP\u2019s New York headquarters. Since March 2018, D\u00edaz served as Country Director for UNDP in Guatemala and was appointed Resident Representative in January 2019. Her career spans Europe, Asia, Africa, the United States, and Latin America, where she has provided leadership and expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D\u00edaz presented her credentials to the Ministry of Foreign Relations on 16 August 2024. She reaffirmed to the Minister, the UNDP\u2019s commitment to supporting the Dominican Republic\u2019s national development priorities. She emphasized the agency\u2019s role in leveraging regional and global knowledge networks to address the country\u2019s complex development challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
