Marileidy Paulino won the gold in the 400 m in Silesia, Poland, clocking in a time of 48.66, breaking the previous 400 m Diamond League record (49.48) held by Natalia Maczmarek of Poland. In the same race, Kaczmarek came in third with a time of 49.95.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paulino competed in the race against Paris Olympic Games silver medal winner, Eid Salwa Naser who is running for Bahrein and who is coached by a former Dominican Olympic coach. Naser clocked in second at 49.23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Others in the race were Rhasidat Adeleke of Ireland (50.0), Alexis Holmes of USA (50.01), Henriette Jaeger of Norway (50.33), Lieke Klaver of Netherlands (50.46), Sada Williams of Barbados (50.82) and Laviai Nielsen of Great Britain (51.02).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paulino has now won five Diamond League races. Her next race will be the Diamond League Final in Brussels, Belgium on 13 and 14 September 2024 where she will again race the world\u2019s best athletes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paulino with her first four wins in the league had already secured her participation in the winner-takes-all competition in each of the 32 disciplines during the Diamond League Final in Brussels. Her win will come with a US$40,000 cash prize and a Diamond Trophy created by Beyer of Zurich, one of the oldest and most respected jewellers in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then next on her agenda is the Athlos Track Meet Athlos track meet\u2014an all-women\u2019s competition that\u2019s set for 26 September 2024 in New York City. The race is promising \u201cthe largest prize purse ever for a women\u2019s track event,\u201d with US$60,000 going to the winner of each race and prize money down to sixth place. She has accepted the invitation from meet co-organizer, Gabby Thomas of the United States who won gold in 200m in the Paris Olympic Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
