President Luis Abinader is scheduled to leave for the United States on Tuesday, 3 September 2024 to attend several events in New York and Washington, D.C., at the invitation of international organizations. He is booked on a commercial flight from Las Am\u00e9ricas International Airport to New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is scheduled to give the opening remarks at the Latin American and Caribbean Infrastructure Investment Conference in New York on Wednesday, 4 September 2024 at the Convene 237 Park Avenue, New York. The event is organized by CAF and CAF-Asset Management Group, in partnership with the British publication, The Financial Times. Investors, asset managers, regulators and think tank leaders will participate in the event on 4 September in New York. The event is held to accelerate public policies to attract investments that will create quality jogs and enhance sustainable development in the region. The meeting will also explore financing models for crucial areas of infrastructure development and the growing opportunities for asset managers in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later on Wednesday, Abinader will travel to Washington, D.C. In the US capital, he will be the keynote at the 27th Annual Conference of the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) at the Organization of American States (OAS) headquarters on Thursday, 5 September 2024. The event is organized by the Inter-American Dialogue, CAF -Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Organization of American States. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accompanying the President are Foreign Minister Roberto \u00c1lvarez, Finance Minister Jochy Vicente, and Industry & Commerce Minister V\u00edctor Bison\u00f3. His team will also include assistants Eilyn Beltr\u00e1n, Lourdes Herrera, and Colonel (ERD) Rafael Ram\u00edrez, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Security Corps (Cusep).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his visit, Abinader is expected to meet with executives from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the Inter-American Dialogue, and OAS Secretary General Luis Almagro. The President plans to return to the Dominican Republic on Thursday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trip of President Luis Abinader to Washington, DC coincides with the announcement that the jet held at the La Isabela Airport in northern Santo Domingo is the Air Force One equivalent for Maduro and was transferred to the Southern District of Florida at the request of the United States based on violations of US export control and sanctions laws. The story made headlines all around the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
