The port that opened on 6 October 2015 has set a new arrivals record so far this 2024. After receiving more than a million cruise ship passengers in 2023, general manager Sharon Mei says the number of cruise ship arrivals and passengers has been on the rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As reported in Diario Libre, from January to August 2024, some 80,184 cruise ship passengers and 23,801 crew have stopped at the port, numbers that are 13% more than the first eight months in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amber Cove has been the most visited cruise port this year, with 58% of the total arrivals, according to data published by the Ministry of Tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mei says the ships mainly bring US families. \u201cWe cater to the American passenger who likes to take tours. Almost 50% take tours and another 8% will take taxis&#8221;, says Mei.
