In an event attended by the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Pe\u00f1a, the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the Dominican Republic celebrated its 100th anniversary in the country on Friday, 22 November 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the ceremony, Vice President Pe\u00f1a highlighted that this century of history is a testament to an organization that has managed to strengthen ties between “two lands separated by the Atlantic, but united by the historical threads of language, culture, and commerce.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raquel Pe\u00f1a specified that with the creation of this Chamber in 1924, trade between Spain and the Dominican Republic was formalized and regulated, laying the foundation for a relationship of cooperation and mutual growth that has strengthened over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The president of the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the Dominican Republic, Paco P\u00e9rez, recounted how over these 100 years the members of the Chamber have accompanied Spanish companies that have moved to the country seeking new opportunities. He spoke of witnessing how throughout the years many of these have become fully integrated into the Dominican business fabric, contributing innovation, jobs, and economic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, he reiterated that the Chamber of Commerce has facilitated the entry of Dominican companies into the Spanish market, contributing to the strengthening of bilateral relations. Overall, he said that “beyond the business sphere, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce has played an important role in building cultural bridges.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
