Cool breezes are expected on Thursday, 5 December 2024 as a cold front in the north interacts with weather in the DR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Meteorological Office (Indomet) is forecasting a noticeable drop in temperature and increased humidity starting on the morning of Wednesday, 4 December 2024 due to the indirect interaction of a cold front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This meteorological phenomenon will bring cloudy skies, light to moderate rainfall, occasional heavy downpours, thunderstorms, and gusty winds to the provinces of Mar\u00eda Trinidad S\u00e1nchez, Espaillat, Hermanas Mirabal, Puerto Plata, Montecristi, and Samana. These conditions are expected to spread to Duarte, La Vega, Santiago, Valverde, and neighboring areas, persisting into the afternoon and evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National District and Santo Domingo province will also experience increased cloud cover, rain showers, isolated thunderstorms, and sporadic wind gusts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minimum temperatures are expected to range between 20\u00b0C and 22\u00b0C, while maximum temperatures will hover between 30\u00b0C and 32\u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indomet is also forecasting high surf and waves for the North Coast of the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indomet explains that moderate to heavy showers, accompanied by thunderstorms and wind gusts, are forecasted due to the effects of a trough and a cold front. Weather alerts remain in effect for several provinces, especially along the northern coast. Additionally, dangerous waves are expected along the northern Atlantic Coast. During the day, nevertheless, temperatures will remain warm along the southern coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Friday, 6 December, Indomet says people can expect the rainfall to decrease in both intensity and frequency compared to previous days. However, rain showers will still occur due to a trough located to the north of Puerto Rico. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
