These weather conditions are being caused by a lingering trough that is gradually moving away from the forecast area, located northeast of the island over Atlantic waters, as well as the effects of the prevailing east\/northeast wind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dominican Republic residents can expect scattered showers and relatively cool temperatures in the coming days due to the influence of a high-pressure system over the Atlantic, according to Indomet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A prevailing east\/northeast wind is driving cloud formations across the country, leading to isolated showers, which could be moderate at times, beginning early on Tuesday, 10 December 2024 in the provinces of Altagracia, Hato Mayor, and Saman\u00e1. The rain clouds will shift westward in the afternoon, reaching other areas in the northern, northeastern, and central regions, including San Pedro de Macor\u00eds, La Romana, San Crist\u00f3bal, Mar\u00eda Trinidad S\u00e1nchez, Monse\u00f1or Nouel, S\u00e1nchez Ram\u00edrez, Mont\u00e9 Plata, La Vega, and the Greater Santo Domingo area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The east\/northeast wind, associated with the high-pressure system, is also contributing to pleasant to cool temperatures, especially in mountainous regions.
