The Ministry of Interior and Police continues to combat noise pollution, and announces the shut down of three nightlife businesses in eastern Santo Domingo. Another 12 were given warnings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a concerted effort to curb noise pollution and maintain public order, the Alcohol Control Unit (COBA) of the Ministry of Interior and Police conducted a series of inspections at 15 nightlife establishments in Villa Duarte, Los Mameyes, and Ensanche Isabelita. The operation, dubbed “Operation Guarantee of Peace,” resulted in the temporary closure of three businesses due to excessive noise, obstruction of public thoroughfares, and the sale of alcoholic beverages beyond permitted hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those shuttered include Colmado el Patr\u00f3n, whose owner was arrested for resisting authorities, La Vaca Licor Store, and the bar-billiards hall Snooker. An additional twelve establishments received notices to attend a mandatory meeting at the Ministry of Interior and Police headquarters on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parallel to these closures, the COBA’s anti-noise unit confiscated sound systems from three individuals who were causing disturbances in their vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patricia P\u00e9rez, COBA coordinator for the municipality, emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining public order and respecting the rights of both businesses and residents. She highlighted the importance of these actions in fostering a harmonious coexistence within the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Interior and Police recommends citizens affected by noise pollution to call 911 to denounce the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
