Noticias SIN reported the blackout lasted about 1 hour and 40 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Luis Jos\u00e9 L\u00f3pez, Communications Director for Aerodom (Dominican Airports), the outage was caused by a short circuit. L\u00f3pez explained that a sump pump, a device used to collect liquids, overflowed and came into contact with an electrical register, triggering the short circuit. The power outage occurred after 12 noon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u00f3pez said the outage did not affect the airport&#8217;s regular operations.
