Numerous iconic landmarks are still undergoing significant renovations, including museums, temples, chapels, sanctuaries and historical monuments, each with their own pace of construction. Crews are still burying cables underground, installing sewer systems, and fixing the streets as part of the major beautification project funded by the Interamerican Development Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prominent sites such as the Pantheon of the Fatherland and the Alc\u00e1zar de Col\u00f3n are undergoing extensive renovations to enhance the visitor experience for both locals and international tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The revitalization project encompasses streets, underground infrastructure, public spaces, museums, and over 140 residential properties. One of the most anticipated projects is the renovation of the Alc\u00e1zar de Col\u00f3n, which is receiving a significant investment of RD$74,331,239 for specialized conservation work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The renovations include both interior and exterior work, as well as improvements to accessibility and safety features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The good news is that many sections have already been completed, such as the Puerta de la Misericordia and the Museum of the Cathedral. Likewise, new in the area is the Taino Cultural Center at the Casa de Cordon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People are recommended to take a taxi when headed to the Colonial City because of the parking difficulties.
