The Dominican Republic\u2019s oldest cigar company, La Aurora of the Leon Jimenes family, continues to receive accolades for its 100 A\u00f1os cigar that celebrates the brand\u2019s long-standing legacy. Originally launched in 2003 to commemorate La Aurora’s centennial, the 100 A\u00f1os cigar quickly gained acclaim and was awarded “Best Dominican Cigar in the World” by Cigar Aficionado in 2004. The cigar is hand-crafted from 100% Dominican tobacco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cigar is getting new media coverage and has been relaunched in new packaging with a high-gloss walnut wood style that incorporates iconic elements from the emblematic lion logo. This blend of nostalgia and modern aesthetics aims to attract both longtime fans and new consumers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cigars are available in three sizes: Churchill, Belicoso, and Robusto. Prices range from approximately US$340 for a Robusto to US$410 for a Belicoso per box of 20 cigars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The relaunch marks a return of a beloved product and reinforces La Aurora’s dedication to celebrating Dominican heritage and craftsmanship in cigar making. As noted by Jos\u00e9 R. Blanco, sales director of La Aurora, this relaunch is a tribute to the brand’s rich history and its future in the premium cigar market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision to relaunch comes at a time when the Dominican Republic saw a 7% increase in U.S. cigar imports in 2024. This growth indicates a strong demand for premium cigars, prompting La Aurora to reintroduce this iconic product to capitalize on the expanding market<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The relaunch also aligns with La Aurora’s broader strategy as it approaches its 125th anniversary in 2028. The company is revitalizing its portfolio and focusing on anniversary releases, showcasing its commitment to excellence in cigar production<\/p>\n\n\n\n
