At the National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) headquarters, US Marshals director Ronald L. Davis met with Vice Admiral Jose Manuel Cabrera Ulloa, president of the DNCD on Wednesday, 8 January 2025. As reported, Davis had praise for the local efforts to combat drug trafficking. The visiting US delegation also congratulated the DNCD for its record-breaking achievements in drug seizures, which totaled over 44 tons of various narcotics in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Davis was accompanied by Deputy Director Melissa Hyatt, Deputy Chief US Marshal Christopher Barther, Assistant Deputy Chief Jacob Green, Deputy Chief Michael Oliver, Executive Officer Cody Johnson, Regional Attach\u00e9 Silvestre del Rosario, Deputy Attach\u00e9 Ulises Alday, and supervisor Sasha Zacar\u00edas, Director Davis when he toured the DNCD’s newly renovated facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director Davis commended the Dominican Republic\u2019s achievements over the past four years in apprehending and extraditing fugitives. A press release from the DNCD explains that these efforts have brought justice to countless US families who had long been waiting for closure. Under the leadership of the DNCD, the country has moved up the ranks in this area, rising from 10th place in 2020 to 2nd place in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, the US Marshals presented Vice Admiral Cabrera Ulloa with a special plaque of recognition, which reads: “In Recognition of Your Valuable Partnership with the US Marshals Service in Promoting Public Safety, Protection, and Justice.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This visit reinforces the unwavering commitment of the DNCD in the fight against drug trafficking and organized crime. Vice Admiral Cabrera Ulloa credited the ongoing support of President Luis Abinader and the Attorney General’s Office, which have made these accomplishments possible. He reiterated his commitment to continuing to combat this pervasive issue with unrelenting force, ensuring that organized crime will not be allowed to gain a foothold in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ronald L. Davis has more than 38 years in law enforcement service. He was named to the position in April 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
