Held last week, the event was sponsored by the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), the Technological of Santo Domingo (Intec), a group known as Highly Adaptable Minds, and the Copy Center La Escalera. The event also had the collaboration of the Pontifical Catholic University Mater et Magistra (PUCMM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With over 50 scientists from this country and from overseas, the congress was attended by students at all levels from all of the Dominican universities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Given the recent push towards renewable energy, the Russian researcher Rinat Nasyrov of the University Moscow Power Engineering Institute (MPEI)&nbsp;spoke on improving the sustainability of electricity systems installing more renewable energy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Researcher Eduardo Nicolau, from the University of Puerto Rico, offered a talk on polymers used in the filtering of residual waters.
