The 48-year old experienced Spanish-Colombian cyclist was the undisputed champion of the tour. He was followed by Yesid Pira of the Dominican Republic (Inteja Imca Ridea DCT) and his fellow team member Wilmar Paredes (Team Medellin \u2013 EPM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sevilla had been the runner-up champion of the race when he competed in the Vuelta de la Independencia in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The race ended on 2 March 2025 in Santo Domingo. The race is one of the most important in the Central American and Caribbean region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 46th edition of the Vuelta Cicl\u00edstica Independencia Nacional had begun on this Monday, 24 February 2025 with the participation of 136 riders from 10 national and 13 international teams that would race all around the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The premier cycling competition in the country took place in seven stages all around the country and was organized by the Federaci\u00f3n Dominicana de Ciclismo, presided by Jorge Blas D\u00edaz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first stage departed from the Vel\u00f3dromo Nacional at the Centro Ol\u00edmpico Juan Pablo Duarte, including the Santo Domingo-Ban\u00ed-Circunvalaci\u00f3n El Hig\u00fcero route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second stage was held on Tuesday, 25 February, featuring the Santo Domingo-San Pedro de Macor\u00eds-La Romana circuit, with a start from Seaboard on the Malec\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Wednesday, 26 February 26, stage 3 began at the Banreservas branch on Avenida Winston Churchill, tackling the mountain route of Santo Domingo-Villa Altagracia-Rancho Arriba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stage 4 was a closed circuit at Parque Mirador Sur on Thursday, 27 February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stage 5 took the cyclists to travel from Santo Domingo to San Pedro de Macoris and then the Circunvalaci\u00f3n El Hig\u00fcero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stage 6 was a Santo Domingo-Circunvalaci\u00f3n El Hig\u00fcero route on Saturday, 1 March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dominican cycling tour concluded on Sunday, 2 March, with the closed circuit at the Expreso Quinto Centenario in Santo Domingo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The participating teams were:<br>National Teams:<br>\u2022 Inteja\/IMCA<br>\u2022 Asocisa\/Santiago<br>\u2022 La Romana<br>\u2022 F\u00e9nix<br>\u2022 Doglocy\/IMCA<br>\u2022 Verrazano\/Santiago<br>\u2022 Asociprodu\/SFM<br>\u2022 Bara Bike<br>\u2022 El Boro Cycling Team<br>\u2022 Asocipe\/Moca<br>International Teams:<br>\u2022 CAMA CCD<br>\u2022 Premier Texas<br>\u2022 Esparza Training<br>\u2022 PZ Cycling Team<br>\u2022 Team JCO<br>\u2022 Team Medell\u00edn<br>\u2022 CSCA Proprete<br>\u2022 HyF Sport Wear<br>\u2022 Prestige Cycling-PR<br>\u2022 Quebexico<br>\u2022 City Bikes Miami<br>\u2022 Phoenix Internat-Cayman<br>\u2022 Cycliste De Abymes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read more in Spanish:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.revistamundociclistico.com\/2025\/oscar-sevilla-campeon-de-la-vuelta-independencia-de-republica-dominicana-yesid-pira-2-y-wilmar-paredes-3\/\">Revista Mundo Ciclistico <\/a><br><a href=\"https:\/\/listindiario.com\/el-deporte\/olimpismo\/20250223\/vuelta-independencia-2025-arranca-lunes-136-ciclistas_846831.html\">Listin Diario <\/a><br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.diariolibre.com\/deportes\/ciclismo\/2025\/02\/12\/queda-definido-el-kilometraje-y-la-ruta-de-la-vuelta-independencia\/2997731\">Diario Libre <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 March 2025<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Representing Team Medellin \u2013 EPM of Colombia, cyclist Oscar Sevilla rode into Santo Domingo for the final 112 km phase of the 2025 Independence Cycling Tour.
