The increment will be applied in two stages: 12% in April and 8% in February 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Approximately two million workers will benefit from this wage boost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The announcement was made at an event led by the President and Labor Minister Eddy Olivares, joined by representatives from the tripartite dialogue at the Labor Ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Discussions on the wage increase for non-sectorized private workers are scheduled every two years. This year the tripartite (government, labor and business) meeting started with the proposal of a 20% increase from President Abinader, which was immediately supported by union representatives calling for a 30% hike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the final meeting, the business sector, represented by the National Employers&#8217; Confederation (Copardom), led by Laura Pe\u00f1a Izquierdo, countered with a 10% proposal.
