Then, on Sunday, 2 March 2025, more than 80 groups from the capital city paraded along the Santo Domingo Malecon. The media covering the event pointed out it was a gala and the costumes and groups were at the highest of carnival standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next major carnival parade will now will be the Desfile Nacional de Carnaval 2025, on Sunday 23 March 2025, with the best of show in carnivals from all around the country. The carnival parade will again be on the Malecon, starting at 2pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The national carnival offers cash prizes of RD$5 million for the best carnival performances from around 150 groups coming from all around the country. The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s parade will honor the province of San Crist\u00f3bal, in recognition of its rich cultural heritage and the rise of its carnival. The event will also be broadcast live on M\u00e1s Roberto on Channel 11.
