Vice President Raquel Pe\u00f1a congratulated Dominican actress Zoe Salda\u00f1a for becoming the first Dominican to win an Oscar. Vice President Pe\u00f1a corroborated that Salda\u00f1a has made all Dominicans proud. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salda\u00f1a won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in Emilia Perez. The song she sings and dances to in the film, \u201cEl Mal\u201d also won the best original score.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salda\u00f1a is only the third Latin American actress to win in this category, joining Rita Moreno (1962) and Ariana DeBose (2022), two Puerto Ricans who performed in versions of the West Side Story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the world celebrates Zoe Salda\u00f1a winning an Oscar, more stories are coming forth on the outstanding life of the artist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
