Medina was President for the terms 2008-2012 and 2012-2016. He said he was unable to change the Constitution because his political party, the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) was divided. Eventually, former President Leonel Fernandez (1996-2000, 2004-2008, 2008-2012) split from the party to found the People&#8217;s Force accusing Medina of rigging the primary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Medina took advantage of the morning talk show  to defend the actions of his government. He blamed the Procurement Agency for allowing any irregularities of which his brother Alex Medina and sister Magalys are accused of, as well as his brother-in-law Max Montilla.
