Newly appointed Attorney General Yeni Berenice Reynoso unveiled a significant restructuring of the Public Ministry and announced several key appointments aimed at bolstering operational efficiency and effectiveness. The changes are expected to make headlines in coming days, with the removal of Wilson Camacho from the administrative corruption section, and the restoring of Espi\u00f1eira Ceballos, Juan Medina de los Santos and Mirna Ortiz to key positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reynoso appointed seven deputy attorneys general to strategic positions within the institution. Among the notable appointments:
\u2022 Rodolfo Espi\u00f1eira Ceballos was named First Substitute Attorney General and will work directly in the Attorney General’s office.
\u2022 Wilson Manuel Camacho Peralta will lead the Department for Criminal Prosecution.
\u2022 Osvaldo Bonilla Hiraldo will oversee international legal assistance, including extradition proceedings and human rights cases.
\u2022 Pedro Fr\u00edas Morillo, Second Substitute Attorney General, will also head the Technical Unit of the Attorney General’s office.
\u2022 Mirna Ortiz was appointed head of the Specialized Prosecution Office for Administrative Corruption (PEPCA), reinforcing anti-corruption efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other appointments include:
\u2022 Jos\u00e9 Vitervo Cabral Gonz\u00e1lez, who will remain at the helm of the Public Ministry\u2019s Inspectorate General.
\u2022 Isis de la Cruz Duarte, who continues leading the Unit for Investigation of Illicit Trade.
\u2022 Sourelly J\u00e1quez Vialet, who will direct the Unit for Special Proceedings with Privileged Jurisdiction.
\u2022 Juan Medina de los Santos, responsible for the Unit for Civil and Administrative Litigation.
\u2022 Alba Corona Valerio, who will lead the Department of Victim Assistance System (SAE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The restructuring also includes appointments focused on modernization efforts, such as Iv\u00e1n Feliz Vargas, who will head Project G-5, aimed at technologically transforming the investigations system and SAE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reynoso emphasized that these appointments are part of a comprehensive plan to modernize the Public Ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
