Diario Libre reports that the announcement that Haiti would no longer receive shipments of goods from overseas by way of the Dominican\/Haitian frontier was not aimed at Dominican products, but rather, at shipments from overseas that were off-loaded in Dominican ports for trans-shipment across the border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diario Libre sources revealed that the idea behind this decree is the intention to force ships carrying goods to Haiti to dock at Haitian ports. This was seen as a measure to close off the supply of contraband arms and munitions that is currently reaching the outlaw gangs that control a large part of the neighboring country.
