New York State Senator Luis Sep\u00falveda announced the New York State Senate has recognized the journalism careers of Nuria Piera, Alicia Ortega and Persio Maldonado in the Resolution of Independence in Commemoration of the 181st Anniversary of the Dominican Independence on the occasion of Dominican Heritage Month in New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A press release from Sep\u00falveda’s senatorial office stated that Piera, Ortega, and Maldonado “have left a deep mark over the years” in journalism. “Their dedication and commitment to truth, objectivity, and informative quality have made them fundamental references within the profession, earning the respect and admiration of both their colleagues and the general public,” the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sep\u00falveda affirmed that each of these Dominican journalists has played a leading role in the development and transformation of communication in their respective contexts, significantly contributing to the analysis and interpretation of current events. He highlighted their abilities to inform accurately and clearly, even in complex situations, which has been key to keeping the audience well-informed on crucial issues in the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sep\u00falveda granted the resolution in recognition of Piera’s journalistic career, courage, commitment, and dedication. He emphasized that her work exemplifies the highest principles of Dominican journalism. Piera is the editor of N Investiga and N Digital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to Senator Sep\u00falveda for the honor he has bestowed upon me,” said Piera. “This significant gesture not only enriches my professional career but also represents an invaluable boost to continue with renewed dedication in my work.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
