Roberto Antonio Perez Herrera (Ruddy) was 69 years old and had spent the last 40 years as a singer-songwriter of merengues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He followed in the footsteps of the great Dominican musicians such as Luis Alberti, Wilfrido Vargas, and Johnny Ventura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Strangely, it was an automobile accident that crushed his dreams of joining his brother in the Big Leagues but sent him in the direction of music stardom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diario Libre compiled a short list of his most famous songs.
