Brigadier General Pilot Jonas Reynoso Barrera \/ El D\u00eda<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Brigadier General Pilot Jon\u00e1s Reynoso Barrera has been named the new executive director of the National Anti-Terrorism Agency (DNA), according to an announcement from the Ministry of Defense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Defense says that the appointment, made by Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fern\u00e1ndez Onofre, Minister of Defense, is part of an ongoing effort to modernize the institution to effectively address the threats posed by terrorism and transnational organized crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

General Reynoso Barrera is a graduate of the “Batalla de Las Carreras” Military Academy and has a background as a combat pilot. His academic achievements include master’s degrees and specialized studies from institutions such as the Inter-American Defense College in Washington D.C., the George C. Marshall Center in Germany, and the US Air Force Air University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to this appointment, General Reynoso Barrera served as the director of operations for the Command, Control, Communications, Cybersecurity, and Intelligence Center (C5I). He also held the position of liaison officer with Joint Interagency Task Force South (JIATF-S) in Key West, Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The press release further noted his experience as an international instructor and facilitator, along with his expertise in combating illicit trafficking and in strategic planning for defense and national security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout his career, General Reynoso Barrera has held numerous strategic and operational positions both domestically and internationally, including:
\u2022 Director of Operations of the Command, Control, Communications, Cybersecurity, and Intelligence Center (C5I) of the Armed Forces
\u2022 Director of Retirement and Pension Fund of the Armed Forces
\u2022 Director of Strategic Planning at the National Defense University
\u2022 Academic Deputy Director of the “General de Brigada Piloto Frank Andr\u00e9s F\u00e9liz Miranda” Air Academy<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year, the Abinader administration had declared that Haitian gang members crossing to the Dominican Republic would be treated as terrorists. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
