The 29th annual Hato Mayor\/Vicentillo Beach Volleyball Tournament kicked off with an exciting opening match, where Flor Col\u00f3n and her team, Las Populares del Banco de Reservas, defeated former captain of the Reinas del Caribe (the national senior women\u2019s volleyball team) Prisilla Rivera and the Ol\u00edmpicas, led by Cosiris Rodr\u00edguez. The final score was 21-13, with Col\u00f3n\u2019s experience on the sand outshining Rivera\u2019s expertise on the hard court, a tournament press release explains. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They competed in the Hato Mayor tournament that offered more than RD$3 million in prizes at the Rancho Tur\u00edstico Do\u00f1a Callita. The opening ceremony featured Leo Corpor\u00e1n, sports editor of El Nacional, who performed the honorary serve to kick off the competition, which is dedicated to his legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s tournament includes competitions in the open, men\u2019s, women\u2019s, and regional categories for both men and women, with significant prizes awaiting the winners of each division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
