The Ministry of Foreign Relations (Mirex) announced on Friday, 2 May 2025 the appointment of new ambassadors to key posts around the world. The moves are outlined in Decree 239-25. Others were announced in previous decrees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The appointments are:
Angie Shakira Mart\u00ednez Tejera, previously ambassador to Jamaica, will now serve as the Dominican Republic’s ambassador to the Republic of South Korea. She replaces Federico Cuello who will be working at the Ministry of Foreign Relations in Santo Domingo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manuel Antonio Dur\u00e1n Pilarte has been tapped as the new ambassador to Jamaica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joan Margarita Cedano Garda de Madera will lead the Dominican mission to the European Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erika Ylonca \u00c1lvarez Rodr\u00edguez will serve concurrently as ambassador to the Republic of Rwanda, based in South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lourdes Margarita Franco-Zimmermann will be ambassador concurrent to the Republic of Latvia, based in Sweden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c1ngela Marianna Vigliotta Mella, the Dominican ambassador to Austria, will also represent the country in the Republic of Serbia. She is based in Austria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mar\u00eda Isabel Castillo B\u00e1ez, formerly ambassador to Mexico, is taking on new responsibilities as the Dominican ambassador to the United States government. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Juan Bol\u00edvar D\u00edaz Santana is named ambassador to Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tony Raful Tejada is named ambassador in Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rafael Antonio Lantigua Ciriaco is named ambassador in Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
