The average cost of food was pegged at RD$46,728 overall in April. This represented a 0.66% increase since January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the lowest income quintile, the cost was set at RD$27,828.58 in January, and this went up to RD$27,968.34 in April, an increase of just 0.50%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It should be noted that the minimum wage for workers varies according to the size of the company, with large companies paying nearly RD$28,000 and the very smallest companies paying a bit over RD$15,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic, the year-to-year inflation rate has been 3.71% and within the 4.0%+\/-1% since late in 2023. According to the results of a national survey in 2018, a bit over 70% of household incomes is the result of economic activities carried out by members of the household.
