The Weather Institute (Indomet) is forecasting hot temperatures and the Saharan dust will continue to prevail in the atmosphere. For Tuesday, 8 July 2025, a tropical wave will bring some relief, with an increased likelihood of showers and thunderstorms across much of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A tropical wave is combining with the existing trough. This is forecast to bring some morning showers to coastal areas of the south, specifically San Pedro de Macor\u00eds, San Crist\u00f3bal, Peravia, and Barahona. From the afternoon into early evening, expect widespread cloudiness, showers, thunderstorms, and possible wind gusts in provinces such as Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, San Pedro de Macor\u00eds, S\u00e1nchez Ram\u00edrez, Duarte, Hermanas Mirabal, Puerto Plata, La Vega, Monse\u00f1or Nouel, San Crist\u00f3bal, Santiago, Valverde, Santiago Rodr\u00edguez, Montecristi, Puerto Plata, Elias Pi\u00f1a, and Dajabon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Temperatures will remain high due to the summer season and the presence of Saharan dust particles. The minimum temperature will range between 21\u00b0C and 23\u00b0C, while the maximum will be between 33\u00b0C and 35\u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the high temperatures, people are recommended to take care in staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water, avoiding direct sun exposure without proper protection, and wearing light-colored, loose clothing. Please note that children and the elderly are more susceptible to the effects of high temperatures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The weather outlook for Wednesday, 9 July is for the trough and tropical wave to move away, resulting in a significant decrease in rainfall across the country. Only isolated showers and possible thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon and early evening, mainly in the northeast and Central Mountain Range, due to daytime heating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
