Speaking during a presentation on the country&#8217;s half year tourism performance, Abinader emphasized the stability and profitability of the nation as a destination for investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t see another place in the region offering greater returns\u2014politically, economically, and socially,\u201d the President stated. He reiterated his administration\u2019s continued support for the tourism industry, regardless of domestic or global challenges. \u201cYou have a government that will stand by your side, no matter the problems we face\u2014international or national\u2014we will solve them together,\u201d he assured investors and industry stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The President\u2019s remarks in the presentation when Tourism Minister David Collado announced a major milestone: the Dominican Republic welcomed more than six million visitors in the first half of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The figure exceeded expectations, surprising both public and private sector leaders, especially given the backdrop of a difficult international tourism environment. The downturn in visitors from the United States and Europe had raised concerns earlier in the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, a surge in tourist arrivals from Latin America helped reverse projections and has sparked optimism. Officials now believe the country could reach a record 12 million visitors by the end of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tourism Minister David Collado highlighted the significance of this growth during his presentation of the January\u2013June arrival report.
