Empresa Generadora de Electricidad (Ege Haina) is adding 60 MW of solar capacity with the installation of a new ground-mounted photovoltaic plant project in northwestern Valverde province. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is in partnership with LONGi an Elecnor Group. David Sanchez, general manager for LONGi Solar Europe called the collaboration the setting of a new benchmark for solar energy in the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ricardo Estevez, senior director of development at EGE Haina explained that the integrating LONGis advanced Hi-MO 9 modules in their Esperanza Park operations will significantly boost the entity\u2019s renewable energy capacity, reinforcing their role as a key player in Caribbean\u2019s clean energy transition and contributing substantially to the country\u2019s climate goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon completion, the solar power plant will contribute significantly to EGE Haina\u2019s ambitious renewable energy portfolio within the Esperanza Park. The company explains that upon completion, the entire plant is set to become the largest mixed renewable energy base in the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Esperanza 2 unit alone is projected to generate over 115 GWh of electricity per year, equivalent to reducing approximately 70,000 tCO2e emissions annually, significantly bolstering the nation\u2019s clean energy goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
