The Dominican Republic’s Puntos GOB initiative, designed to centralize and simplify access to government services, has proven to be a resounding success, serving over 550,000 Dominicans between January and mid-July 2025, El Dia reports. These convenient, one-stop centers have revolutionized how citizens interact with the state, saving them time, money, and stress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Puntos GOB were created by the Government Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OGTIC) to enable citizens to complete a wide array of government documentation (passports, birth certificates, death certificates, power utility contracts) procedures in one location, making the process agile, accessible, and user-friendly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Edgar Batista, director of the OGTIC, told El Dia that the Puntos GOB centers serve an average of 2,737 users daily nationwide. During the mentioned period, a staggering 787,916 services were provided, solidifying Puntos GOB as a vital tool for ensuring citizen access to the Dominican state. The centers boast extended hours, operating Monday through Friday from 8am to 8pm, Saturdays from 9am to 6pm, and offering online assistance on Sundays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the physical centers, the Dominican government has launched GOB.DO, a unified web portal for all state services. This online platform offers 590 government services, integrating 177 public institutions with 114 interactive and 134 transactional procedures. The goal is to reduce service response times by 46% and further eliminate bureaucracy and the need for physical travel, making government services even more accessible and convenient for all Dominicans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
