More than 6,000 new businesses have been created in the Dominican Republic so far this year through the country\u2019s One-Stop Window for Business Formalization, according to the Dominican Federation of Chambers of Commerce (Fedoc\u00e1maras).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organization reported that 6,050 companies were registered between January and August 2025. During the same period, 19 of the country\u2019s 32 chambers of commerce have begun offering online services, a key milestone in the ongoing digital transformation of business registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manuel An\u00edbal Garc\u00eda N\u00fa\u00f1ez, president of Fedoc\u00e1maras and head of the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Hermanas Mirabal, said these developments are part of a broader strategy to digitize, standardize, and improve the quality of the commercial registry system. He noted that a new unified manual of registration criteria is currently being developed with the help of local experts to ensure greater transparency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese advancements are the result of a shared vision among all the Chambers,\u201d Garc\u00eda N\u00fa\u00f1ez stated. \u201cThey commit us to continue modernizing the system to better serve entrepreneurs and citizens alike.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michelle Tavares, president of the Chamber of Commerce for Santo Domingo Province and host of the recent Fedoc\u00e1maras meeting in Boca Chica, emphasized the cultural shift involved in the digital transition. \u201cDigitalization is not just about changing platforms\u2014it\u2019s about changing mindsets and bringing our services closer to the business community and the public,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tavares also highlighted that her chamber leads the nation in digital transactions, with 47% of applications processed entirely online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lucile Houellemont, president of the Santo Domingo Chamber of Commerce and head of the Fedoc\u00e1maras Digital Governance Committee, shared further efforts to streamline the system. She said the organization has implemented daily analysis goals and established quality control teams to ensure a faster, more secure registration process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Houellemont added that the number of analysts at the Fedoc\u00e1maras Digital Analysis Center has jumped from 22 in May to 68 in August\u2014an increase of 209%. A press statement also confirmed plans to introduce an overnight shift to expand operational capacity in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
