In a major step toward modernizing the nation’s energy sector transparency, the National Energy Commission (CNE) has launched Data CNE, an innovative digital platform offering comprehensive statistical information on the Dominican Republic’s energy landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The platform, which is already available via the CNE’s institutional website, was presented at the Energyear Caribe 2025 conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jerson Pe\u00f1a, CNE’s Statistics Coordinator, showcased the new tool, emphasizing its role in the modernization and digitalization of energy data within the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“With Data CNE, we are providing citizens, academia, the private sector, and decision-makers with a clear, accessible, and innovative tool,” Pe\u00f1a stated. He added that the platform “will serve as essential support for planning, research, and investment in the sector.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its initial phase, Data CNE compiles data generated by the CNE itself and integrates key national energy statistics. This crucial information includes:
\u2022 Renewable energy indicators.
\u2022 Projections from the National Energy Plan (PEN 2025\u20132038).
\u2022 Evolution of distributed generation.
\u2022 Statistics on energy saving culture.
\u2022 Aspects related to radiological and nuclear safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The platform further enhances access through dynamic dashboards in Power BI, offering Business Intelligence (BI) indicators and the ability to consult both historical and real-time data. A standout feature is the online monitoring of the National Interconnected Electric System (SENI), made possible by an interoperability agreement with the Coordinating Body (OC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
