Dominican Yudelina Mejia won the subchampionship title at the 2025 World Weightlifting Championships (IWF World Championship) in Forde, Norway, a first for the Dominican Republic\u2019s weightlifting team. Norwegian Olympic champion Solfrid Koanda won the championship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mej\u00eda’s powerful performance in F\u00f8rde, Norway, saw her clinch three medals, totaling 271 kg across her lifts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After nearly gaining a place on the podium at last year\u2019s Paris Olympic Games, Mejia finally broke through with her championship snatch gold in the 86 kg category. She also added a silver medal in the clean and jerk competition behind Norway’s Solfrid Koanda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mej\u00eda cemented her status among the world’s elite in weightlifting by securing the World Sub-Championship title in the 86 kg division at the 2025 IWF World Weightlifting Championships. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dominican athlete was especially dominant in the Snatch, where her 122 kg lift earned her a sensational gold medal. She added a silver medal in the overall -Total (271 kg)- and a bronze medal in the Clean & Jerk (149 kg), demonstrating remarkable power, technique, and determination across the board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
