These are all too common occurrences on Dominican roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A 2017 article in the Listin Diario reported nine killings over parking spots or roadway incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recent studies have shown that over 70% of drivers admit insulting or verbal aggression while driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The study also shows that 60% admit cutting off another driver, and nearly half admit driving poorly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The horn is a very important part of Dominican driving, and a third of drivers use it to express anger or displeasure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2024, there were 3,114 traffic fatalities, making the Dominican Republic the least safest place in the world to drive with 27\/5 road fatalities for every 100,000 population.
