Sixty-seven cruise ships are expected to dock in Puerto Plata\u2019s two cruise ship terminals this November 2025, marking the second-highest total of the year, as reported in Diario Libre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dominican Republic is set to bolster its maritime tourism sector with the arrival of ten new cruise ships making their inaugural calls to the country’s various port terminals, the Dominican Port Authority (Apordom) recently announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The introduction of these vessels underscores the nation’s growing appeal as a premier Caribbean destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cruise ships visiting the Dominican Republic for the first time include:
\u2022 Aida SOL (Aida Cruises)
\u2022 Cel Xcel (Celebrity Cruises)
\u2022 Brilliant Lady (Virgin Voyages)
\u2022 Brilliant OTS (MSC Cruises)
\u2022 Rhapsody (Royal Caribbean)
\u2022 Carnival Legend (Carnival Cruise Line)
\u2022 Majestic Princess and Coral Princess (Princess Cruises)
\u2022 NCL Getaway and NCL Joy (Norwegian Cruise Line)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jean Luis Rodr\u00edguez, executive director of Apordom, highlighted that the arrival of these new ships “reflects the confidence of the major international lines in the Dominican Republic” as a safe, attractive, and competitive tourist destination within the Caribbean market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe arrival of new ships demonstrates the strength of the Dominican port sector and its growing positioning as a regional leader,” Rodr\u00edguez stated. “Every cruise ship that arrives means more visitors, more economic activity, and more opportunities for coastal communities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Apordom’s November report, the Port Authority projects the arrival of 67 cruise ships, making it the second-highest figure for the year. The report noted that the schedule is subject to possible variations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the receiving terminals, Puerto Plata’s Taino Bay (in the city of Puerto Plata) leads with 40 arrivals, followed by Amber Cove on the outskirts of the city (23), and Cabo Rojo in southwestern Pedernales (4).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
