Amber Cove mainly caters to Carnival Cruise ships and is located in Maimon, about 15 minutes west of Puerto Plata city. Taino Bay is located in the historic district of Puerto Plata. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just this month, 49 ships are expected to berth at these two tourist ports. So far this year, 1.62 million tourists have arrived in Puerto Plata, about 81% of all cruise line arrivals.
