The Ministry of Education (MINERD) officially launched the “Agentes al 100” (Agents at 100) youth volunteer program on Tuesday, 11 November 2025. Spearheaded by Minister of Education Luis Miguel De Camps, the initiative aims to fortify values education, boost student participation, and cultivate a new generation of young people committed to national development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The launch event took place at the Profesor Germ\u00e1n Mart\u00ednez High School in the Los R\u00edos sector in northern Santo Domingo. “Agentes al 100” serves as the operational arm of the broader “Ciudadanos al 100” (Citizens at 100) program, which is dedicated to promoting the common good, democracy, and values essential for national coexistence and progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Values in action
In his address, Minister De Camps emphasized that “Agentes al 100” is a “living expression of the competency-based curriculum,” where learning transforms into service and values move “from theory to conduct, example, and commitment.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De Camps noted that this effort is a practical demonstration of the integration of Moral, Civic, and Citizen Ethics instruction into the public pre-university system curriculum, beginning this school year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want what is learned to be affirmed in the community, for civility to be daily, for respect to become a habit, and for values, to use modern language, to go viral: part of who we are and what identifies us as Dominicans,\u201d the education minister stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A symbolic moment during the launch was the unveiling of the National Map of Citizens at 100, which illustrates the territorial expansion of the volunteer network and the program\u2019s nationwide reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De Camps clarified that the initiative aligns with the MINERD’s 2025\u20132028 Roadmap, which positions values education as a central pillar of educational policy, promoting student participation, shared governance, and comprehensive development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Agentes al 100” will develop their own projects, foster participation in social causes, and become models of positive leadership, strengthening belonging, solidarity, and teamwork in their school communities and across Dominican society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MINERD also highlighted a system of civic insignias to recognize students, teachers, and families for their participation in activities promoting peace, solidarity, democracy, national identity, and respect for patriotic symbols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students can earn various badges that acknowledge their achievements and reinforce values education. “Each insignia\u2026 will be a medal of example and evidence of love for the homeland,” Minister De Camps explained, listing titles such as Roots of the Nation, Defender of Democracy, and Heart of Duarte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These badges are part of the Civic Merit Recognition System on the “Ciudadanos al 100” digital portal, where participants register their missions, access resources, and make their impact visible in real-time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
