It secured the 88th position on the prestigious list. This is a gastronomic milestone thanks to persevering Chef Tita (Ines Paez Nin).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diario Libre reports this is a first for a Dominican and Caribbean restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Aguaj\u00ed Restaurant was created by Chef Tita for the luxury Marriott-branded hotel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aguaj\u00ed is the high-end dining concept at the Ocean Club in Sosua, Puerto Plata. The making of the list is regarded as evidence the Dominican Republic can claim leading status in the highly competitive Latin American and Caribbean gastronomical region. Chef Tita exalts the Dominican identity through its ancestral roots and draws inspiration primarily from the indigenous Taino culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aguaj\u00ed&#8217;s entry into the Latin America\u2019s 50 Best Restaurants list projects the Dominican Republic toward a high-level segment of global gastronomic tourism.
