The Toros del Este (La Romana) defeated the Aguilas Cibae\u00f1as (Santiago) 17-1 and the Leones del Escogido (Santo Domingo) defeated the Gigantes del Cibao (San Francisco de Macoris) 5-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The race for the Dominican Winter Baseball League (Lidom) Championship continues with the Toros and the Escogido tied for the first place with seven wins and two losses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Aguilas Cibae\u00f1as are three games behind, but mathematically, they could still win a slot in the playoffs. The Gigantes have lost all their games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outfielder Bryan de la Cruz of the Toros del Este was voted the Most Valuable Player of the 2025-2026 Professional Baseball League Championship (Lidom).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The remaining games are:
Thursday, 8 January:
Gigantes del Cibao vs Toros del Este. 7:30pm. La Romana
Leones del Escogido vs Aguilas Cibae\u00f1as. 7:30pm. Santiago<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday, 9 January:
Gigantes del Cibao vs Leones del Escogido. 7:15pm. Santo Domingo
Aguilas Cibae\u00f1as vs. Toros del Este. 7:30pm. La Romana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday, 10 January:
Aguilas Cibae\u00f1as vs. Leones del Escogido. 4pm. Santo Domingo
Toros del Este vs. Gigantes del Cibao. 5pm. San Francisco de Macoris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top two winners will then decide the winner of the Dominican Professional Winter Baseball 2025-26 Championship and the representative of the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean Series to take place in Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
