This growth of 597,441 additional passengers underscores a sustained upward trend that is solidifying the nation&#8217;s position as a primary aerial connectivity hub in the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Igor Rodr\u00edguez Dur\u00e1n, director general of IDAC, attributed the surge to the general continued growth within the tourism sector, strengthening of international routes and the opening of new destinations and the increased frequency of flights already operating here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flight operations also saw an uptick, with 217,620 recorded flights in 2025, surpassing the 212,023 operations logged the previous year. This data encompasses scheduled commercial flights as well as charter and cargo operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe positive behavior of the aeronautical sector is a clear sign of the confidence airlines and passengers have in our civil aviation system,\u201d Rodr\u00edguez Dur\u00e1n stated.
